Introduction:

Lake America Family Physicians offers HANDS-ON observership/externship opportunities for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) looking for more clinical experience in the USA. For those interested in pursuing residency in the USA, it can be important to gain first hand knowledge of how the medical system in the U.S. operates. We only offer 6 weeks rotations located outside of Orlando, Florida, where you are personally teamed with a board certified physician. You need to do 6 weeks rotation with us to receive LOR. This unique experience can greatly enhance your clinical experience and boost your confidence for residency interviews.

Eligibility of observers/externs:

1.Graduation from a medical school listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED)
2.Passing score on one or more United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)

*This observership is absolutely free and there are no hidden future costs. The only cost associated with this program is a $150 application fee (to avoid non-serious candidates). The applicant is responsible for obtaining proper visa and securing living accommodation during their observership.

IMPORTANT: Please note that once you apply for certain observership/externship dates, you can't modify dates. If you wish to change dates due to any reason, you will need to apply again by filling new application online (along with $150 application fees). You are only allowed to choose dates from slots as following:
